Recently, more and more of our clients have been opting to take their wedding photos prior to the ceremony. Quite honestly, we love it! It has become a very sensible trend and here’s why we think you should consider it for your wedding…
5. Multiple Photo Sites
Have you dreamt of having a city wedding but love the idea of photos by the lake? Plan to do your photos prior to your ceremony and this dream can become a reality. By doing your photos beforehand you have a lot more time to play around with, which means you can visit various sites for your photo ops.
4. Fresh Hair and Make-up
This one is a no brainer. Doesn’t it make sense to take all of your photos after your hair has just been swept up and your make-up has been set? We think so! This especially holds true for those hot summer weddings.
3. Cocktail (no more than an) Hour
Your guests will love you for this one. No one wants to sit around for an hour and a half, sometimes 2 hours to wait for the bridal party to return so the reception can start. They don’t call it cocktail “hour” for nothing!
2. The First Look
Traditionally, the first look takes place as the bride comes down the aisle. However, when taking photos prior to the ceremony, you can have a private reveal where the bride and groom see each other for the first time. Many of you will have contradicting views on this one, but from first hand experience it was the best decision I ever made. My husband and I waited for this day for a very long time and I didn’t want to waste another minute being apart from him. Having that time with him before our ceremony was just what I needed. It helped me to relax, and then I was all smiles and completely at ease walking down the aisle.
1. Extra Time Spent with Guests
This is by far the best reason to take your photos prior to the ceremony. Cocktail hour can be one of the most fun parts of your wedding, so instead of leaving to take photos, enjoy the hour mingling with your family and friends. It’s a nice way to get a little extra time in with your guests, especially those that have traveled from afar. Not to mention you will actually get to try all those yummy hors d’oeuvres you spent countless hours deciding on!
At Gush Weddings and Events, we work with our couples to ensure that their wedding day goes above and beyond their expectations. After all, we want your wedding to be something that you and your guests will ‘gush’ about for years to come. For more information, please contact us at www.gushevents.ca
